Conservation & Restoration of Andrew Jackson's First Hermitage

On September 30, 2003, National Trust for Historic Preservation President Richard Moe and Home & Garden Television (HGTV) President Burton Jablin announced that the First Hermitage in Nashville, Tennessee will be one of twelve National Trust Save America's Treasures sites featured on the popular HGTV series "Restore America".

Arnold Wood Conservation, LLC provided recommendations and consultation for the conservation and restoration of Andrew Jackson's First Hermitage log cabins, a.k.a. the c.1800 Farmhouse and c.1805 Kitchen in order to return the National Historic Landmark buildings to their appearance as slave cabins during the restoration period of 1821-1865.
